But who are they? Where did this company come from? Are they geniuses, or just really smart and hip? Does polka-dot look better than zebra stripes?
Enough questions, look to the right for your answers.
And then call us. We want to meet you.
Steve was born into the catering and event industry. He worked with his mom in her catering business when he was a kid. He spent 20+ years in the linen industry, until he realized he needed a new challenge. Having been to so many events, he was always thinking “What else can we do for a party?" Steve came up with idea of lounge furniture. Couches, huge ottomans with illuminated tables and bars. Using existing linen clients and his vast array of contacts with his business partner Sandy Hines, Jersey Street built up a stable of accounts. Steve finally got to break out of the stale linen industry and show his creative side. His ideas go way beyond furniture and enter into the event décor arena. Steve holds a BS in Political Science from The College of New Jersey.
Sandy Hines, Partner
Sandy has spent 20 years in the textile and linen industry in a variety of companies and marketing positions. She met her Jersey Street partner Steve Novich in the industry, and they quickly realized they had similar goals and worked well together. She started Jersey Street with Steve and has played a key role in its development and growth. Sandy has a creative flair for accenting the furniture that has really brought Jersey Street into the décor arena. Having worked in linens, the move to creative décor with furniture has been a natural transition. Not only has she become a creative force, but she has developed a marketing and sales skill that has helped the company tremendously.
Tom Guzio
As the creative director for Jersey Street Furniture Rental, Tom Guzio has always had a knack for all things creative. He obtained a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Advertising Design and Oil Painting from Syracuse University and went on to study at Parsons School of Design in New York City for the related fields of graphics and floriculture.
After a brief stint in the world of corporate advertising, Guzio obtained a position at The Manor in West Orange, NJ where, after seeing his flair for creative design, they sent him to The New York School of Floral Designing. After taking over The Manor’s event and in-house floral design department he established himself as a leader in the party décor industry.
After becoming a successful addition to The Manor, Guzio decided it was time to branch out on his own in the floral business and opened Floral Presence in West Orange. He continued the expansion of his party design expertise with his own brand of unique and innovative ideas in floral design. During his years as a floral business owner, Guzio conducted numerous floral design classes, symposiums and demonstrations to train and educate the public in the area of floral design. After years as a successful business owner, Guzio then joined The Emerald Garden in Millburn, NJ where he continued to develop an upscale design sense, creating large and small floral pieces for discerning clientele
After working in collaboration with Steve Novich, a partner at Jersey Street Furniture Rental, on several events Guzio was offered the position as Creative Director. Guzio’s design sense, spatial and coloring expertise and floral and decorative creativity have added a tremendous amount of design ingenuity to an already solid team of savvy party innovators. His extensive experience and proven track record with the successful event design sets him apart in the event décor business. Tom currently resides in Fairfield, New Jersey.
